- How can we lower taxes and fees statewide?
Nebraska has grown exponentially in the last two decades -- and taxpayers are footing the bill for this progress. Did you know our local taxes are among the highest in the nation? Our sales tax mirrors that of New York. Our property taxes have risen nearly 200% over the past three decades and despite a property tax cut earlier this year, some Californians living in Malibu and Orange County pay less property tax than the average Nebraskan. (See California Prop. 13.) After all this, our state still relies on an income tax. The average Iowan pays less in total state taxes than the average Nebraskan. Lincoln can do better by us.
Chris Moles will introduce tax reforms with the purpose of reducing or eliminating the state income tax and local property taxes. He will also designate a substantial percentage of each source of state income, such as DMV fees and hunting licenses, for roads, infrastructure, education and preservation. In this way, the state can increase spending on its most important projects, but individual fees could be reduced. We can do better as a state - and with your support, we will. Back to Top
- Where does Mr. Moles stand on the downtown Ballpark?
Chris loves college sports and believes that Rosenblatt Stadium is a cornerstone of NCAA history. Roger Clemens pitched there and Reggie Jackson belted home runs over the left field fence. It is essentially the "Wrigley Field" of college baseball. With three years left in Omaha's contract with the NCAA, city developers and lobbyist are exploiting the situation to frighten Omaha. Meanwhile, the state encourages this hysteria from afar. Chris Moles believes a new multimillion-dollar stadium is impractical, unnecessary and wasteful. However, if the city decides to go ahead with this project, he would push for a longer term commitment from the NCAA. The College World Series is synonymous with Omaha, Nebraska. Back to Top
- What are Mr. Moles' qualifications for this office?
Chris Moles serves as an elected board member of the Downtown Improvement District, where he represents the residents of historic Old Market and the greater downtown in modernizing and promoting Omaha.
Prior to his election, Chris served as a fiscally responsible activist all over the country, where he campaigned against lobbyist influence in local government and championed consumer rights. Christopher is endorsed by the Americans for Tax Reform. Back to Top
- Is Mr. Moles the best candidate to represent us in Lincoln?

He has worked in the corporate world and has experience with those laws that effect jobs and the economy. Mr. Moles is also a member of the American Bar Association. Back to Top
